I was browsing through scans when I noticed a rather interesting marketing technique used in the OP, ED and OST singles, though I believe it has been used many times till the point of being overcliched. It seems that Toradora’s OP(S1), ED(s2) and OST cds will form “とらドラ!” when lined up in order, yes, the OP of S1 and ED of S2.

I thought Toradora made a pleasant change in its image this week. The OP and ED gave me a different impression of Toradora altogehter. Everything from the opening sequence to the presentation of the episode(christmas) fitted really well with Minori’s depression and the various romance of characters.

I was relatively impressed by this episode as it kept up the suspense while keeping the lengthy unfathomable explanations short. Two suspects, Kamijou’s father Touya and Misha were introduced and the preview identified Misha as the culprit. If that’s so, how does Touya factor in? The relic replicas Touya has may hold a clue to the entire situation as Tsuchimikado warns Kamijou not to touch those. These various confusing details contribute to an overall mystery that quite unfortunately, will be explained thoroughly in a long expository, followed by a nicely animated battle.

The episode was great with its well placed music, I loved the scene at Touya’s house, the music was paramount in accentuating the eerie atmosphere. I also enjoyed the scene after the first half though the music did not do much good then. Characters acting like a different person felt similar to a short light-hearted improvisational act. All in all, I thought the episode was chiefly engaging although Kamijou’s mother keeping Tsuchimikado rooted was simply unbelievable.

I’ve known of a certain unfortunate ending when I first watched the Clannad movie’s trailer. The gradual transition to more seriousness foreshadows a bad future. It would only lead me to wonder what happens next. Fans have speculated that the anime would be following a severely gloomy route from the visual novel, possibly making it similar to the movie, that probably implies serious business from Clannad now on. However I seriously doubt the possibility of the happiness turning downhill completely from the next episode although it will be a tearjerker as Ushio is bound to be delivered, as implied by the OP and ED.

These two episodes have given off a certain amount of emotional vibes which definitely will lead to something depressing, I just hope Nagisa gets well soon. Thinking back, I regret watching episode 14 only when 15 was released, I’m getting too engrossed in the story, the same thing happens when I binge through an entire series in a day. (Argh)

Angela Takatsukasa makes it to the city with Tsubasa Tsubame, with the goal of defeating Yoichi for a cash reward. Tsubasa has a different plan, however. She enjoys leading a “normal girl’s life” and intends not to defeat Yoichi in order to stay in town indefinitely.

It is simply curious how unexplained “phenomena” occur in Maria Holic. A vicious alaria creature appears at the end of the episode to challenge Kanoko. there were three possible explanations to it. One, the creature was let out of the bag. Two, the dog grew it. Three, it didn’t happen. I’d be glad if the alaria creature incident was adapted from source material as this supernatural event would be explained, otherwise, the characters will be brainwashed before the next episode and the creature never existed.

To be honest, this episode of Toaru Majutsu no Index blew me away, totally. It’s the only episode so far that had been thoroughly entertaining.

I thought it was great to give Ibuki a vice- her violence. Without that, she would’ve been a perfect girl who causes no trouble. I’m unsure if she had such a personality in the manga, since I’ve only read the first panel, but it does contributes a fair deal to the overall light-heartedness of the show.

I was impressed by the beautiful OP, watching Maria smash the mannequins around just made me wonder what he would do to Kanoko in the future. I do remember reading somewhere that he’s sadistic and cruel. The animation styles used throughout the episode were definitely Shaft-esque and unique, little things like unimportant characters portrayed in an insignificant manner did contribute to an overall effect of appealing animation.

Focusing on the plot, Kanoko has definitely embroiled herself in a complicated situation, the number of new characters introduced was unexpected as I was thinking of Ryuuken helping to extricate Kanoko out of the situation. I’m not sure how the story will develop from now on, but I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for more of those pink faced creatures.
