Asu no Yoichi! 11 + 12 [END]

The concluding episodes of Asu no Yoichi weren’t too shabby in my opinion, a second season might be required to tie up loose ends.

Asu no Yoichi! 09

Asu no Yoichi could use another season for further character development. Only 3 episodes remain and there is little development the show could provide from now on.

Many relationships have not been fully developed although the pairings have been made pretty clear since the last 2 episodes. For example, IbukixYoichi, AyamexWashizu and KagomexSomeone were established but will these relationships materialise by the end of the series? Chihayax(Spoiler) has not even appeared despite an obvious clue from the previous episode.

I got a heads up that this episode of Asu no Yoichi would be good, I never expected it to be that good though. Everything in the episode was well packaged, from the WashizuxAyame elements to the entire complication, it was a great change from the usual “kill Yoichi!” notion and last week’s fanservice episode.

The episode did not have much development of the characters, excluding Kagome and her lover Masashi, and not forgetting the sibling villains in COLOUR! I was wondering what “Kagome’s secret” was when I browsed though online boards discussing Asu no Yoichi, I was keeping my eyes wide open for the little surprise. It came good, never did I expect Kagome to have an overdeveloped chest.

I gave up believing in any chances of the random hired assassin of the week ever making it to town after noticing his hidden cluelessness as to where he was. Though the joke became midly apparent after the snake scene, it was still excellent and I had an enjoyable laugh over it.

Yoichi is admired by a group of girls? What a surprise, he is even invited to a date. But that was later revealed to be a half-assed plot to assassinate him. Setting the assassination aside, the girl initially bought me over with her act. She appeared to be a shy girl who has taken a liking for another person and just doesn’t know how to go about expressing her love. She even appeared with two convincingly caring friends.

Yoichi gets beaten up again for being a pervert several times in the episode, first for ripping Ibuki’s clothes, second for raping Chihaya, third for touching Ibuki. What comes to mind would be what Yoichi thinks of the “punishment” he receives. Not too surprisingly, he takes it as repentance to the Ikaruga house.

Angela Takatsukasa makes it to the city with Tsubasa Tsubame, with the goal of defeating Yoichi for a cash reward. Tsubasa has a different plan, however. She enjoys leading a “normal girl’s life” and intends not to defeat Yoichi in order to stay in town indefinitely.

I thought it was great to give Ibuki a vice- her violence. Without that, she would’ve been a perfect girl who causes no trouble. I’m unsure if she had such a personality in the manga, since I’ve only read the first panel, but it does contributes a fair deal to the overall light-heartedness of the show.
