Toaru Majutsu no Index 24 [END]

This was a pretty decent episode setting aside the usual problems such as villains revealing their plan or past to the protagonists. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes when Shelley explained her rationale of attacking Index. Though it is understandable that there would be difficulty explaining Shelley’s past, I thought the scene would have been much better if she didn’t explain it that comprehensively and left it vague.

Toaru Majutsu no Index 23

Kamijou returns with more Kamijou nonsense. I’m not particularly affected this time since I’ve developed an immunity towards his cheesy lines, e.g. “There doesn’t have to be a reason!!”

Toaru Majutsu no Index 21-22
I wasn’t intending to resume watching Toaru Majutsu no Index since the Last Order Arc was over. To be honest, I was actually very busy the past 2 weeks, hence I stopped watching it temporarily.
Toaru Majutsu no Index 20
Thank heavens Kamijou is gone these two weeks, though he appears in the prologue to comment on the issue in a much anticipated melodramatic manner.

Toaru Majutsu no Index 19
Toaru Majutsu no Index finally shows some realistic personalities (Accelerator). Accelerator steals the spoitlight from Kamijou this episode, albeit not completely. As Misaka pointed out, Accelerator, being the cold person he is, enhances his cold facade to intimidate the sisters in bid of saving them. His indirectness reminds of a tsunderes and people irl, he wishes good for people but expresses these negatively.
It was a relieving change from the usual humdrum; Kamijou nonsense. The plot is sound and all, the only thing I disliked was Misaka catching the Kamijou virus and calling it a “psychological theory”, it’s a total misnomer of logical fallacy! And, Accelerator could have used his vector changing abilities to accelerate instead of running.
Toaru Majutsu no Index 18

The state of affairs in Toaru Majutsu no Index is too ironic. Touma gains more worshippers with every arc that passes. Little did I expect that it is viewed as a potential threat to Earth; especially when he gains worshippers like Aisa Himegami by inspiring them with mind-blowing knowledge on how to be a “good” person. Knowing that Kamijou is hunted for wrecking the balance between science and magic further enforces my deicison never to worship Kamijou.

To Aru Majutsu no Index Tan
Finally, the major revamp of Toaru Majutsu no Index we’ve been waiting for! No more I-want-to-save-the-damsel-in-distress-because-I-don’t-know baloney. One of my favorite scenes was when Stiyl and Kanzaki gain an epiphany from listening to Kamijou. Things just don’t seem to melodramatic in the edited version of Toaru Majutsu no Index Tan, a worthy watch.

To Aru Majutsu no Index 17

Did JC Staff really think that they would pull To Aru Majutsu no Index off as an emotional anime? Probably. Is it in actual fact one? No. What I saw in episode 17 of To Aru Majutsu no Index were the overused pseudo-emotional scenes, remove them and it might be a great episode.
Kanzaki was mentioning some baloney regarding mixed religions and how she could take on deity-tier entities. I’m going to make a guess and say that the nonsense was implemented to make up for the removal of scenes explaining Kanzaki’s past. I was only receiving one message from the fight scene, that I should be crying, a command from the JC Staff which I obviously ignored.
A similar tactic was employed when Tsuchimikado seemingly dies. Did JC Staff really think that it would make a poignant sacrifice? I wasn’t glad that Tsuchimikado survived, but he was relatively amusing with his double/triple spy jokes.
A great episode this was not, the next doesn’t seem any better either with melodramatic Mikoto. I’m craving for more Accelerator.
Toaru Majutsu no Index 16
I was relatively impressed by this episode as it kept up the suspense while keeping the lengthy unfathomable explanations short. Two suspects, Kamijou’s father Touya and Misha were introduced and the preview identified Misha as the culprit. If that’s so, how does Touya factor in? The relic replicas Touya has may hold a clue to the entire situation as Tsuchimikado warns Kamijou not to touch those. These various confusing details contribute to an overall mystery that quite unfortunately, will be explained thoroughly in a long expository, followed by a nicely animated battle.
The episode was great with its well placed music, I loved the scene at Touya’s house, the music was paramount in accentuating the eerie atmosphere. I also enjoyed the scene after the first half though the music did not do much good then. Characters acting like a different person felt similar to a short light-hearted improvisational act. All in all, I thought the episode was chiefly engaging although Kamijou’s mother keeping Tsuchimikado rooted was simply unbelievable.

To be honest, this episode of Toaru Majutsu no Index blew me away, totally. It’s the only episode so far that had been thoroughly entertaining.
